Harden's survey result
Summary
This “modern spa hotel with views out to sea” from its clifftop vantage point is fully geared-up for the eco tourist, with a solidly rated kitchen serving up sustainable meals from breakfast via lunch and afternoon tea to dinner, when there is a choice of tasting menus including vegetarian and vegan. Non-residents are now welcome to book, but it remains child-free.
Summary
This gorgeous clifftop establishment – host to a “sensory spa garden” befitting its eco credentials – scooped 'Seaside Hotel of the Year' in the ‘Good Hotel Guide 2021’ César awards. The dining options are split between the more casual Wild Café and The Herring, where a meal begins with a prelude of small plates before a choice of main and dessert (they also do “such a fun afternoon tea with a wonderful view”). Note that they were only offering dinner to hotel guests as we went to press. No kids here – it’s adults only.
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
