Harden's says

Opening in February, the new restaurant in Fort Lane Hotel brings the flavours of southern Europe to Margate with a 'fish-forward' menu from Portuguese chef Luis Freitas. There's also a basement bar decorated with work by artists with local connections, including Tracey Emin.

Our reviews are based on an annual survey of ordinary diners which runs in Spring each year. But this establishment has not yet gathered enough feedback for our editors to write it up.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Good then…less so. We are two foodies and have been ut for many meals thus we have quite a good understand of success criteria. As this was hailed one website as a hot newcomer it seemed sensible to try ot! It's about a 30 cover restaurant which also doubles as the reception for the hotel too! The menu is quite short with moderate variety. Must confess few of the starters spoke to me! We ordered doused bream which was beautifully presented and lightly flavoured. Piri piri mussels were very nice as was the belly pork, great flavour in the pork! The oxtail had to be replaced as it had cheese on it, despite it not mentioning it on the menu. It was ok, pasta was well prepared and presented but the oxtail can handle lots of flavour, but didn't display it. We chose three desserts between us. The crema was very grainy and watery and really had little flavour. The blood orange and merangue pie was nice but incredibly sweet. The fi Al dessert was a replacement almond gellato for the Pistacho (sadly) which frankly was reasonably devoid of flavour, the hint of almond came mainly from the added flakes. Toilet clean but only one plus one for disabled customers. Waiter was nice but no checking if we had any questions re thr menu. As we said to the waiter our greatest criticism.was reserved for the decades old local village hall stackable wooden chairs which were indescribably uncomfortable. To be fair he did accept that the two things we highlighted the Crema and the chairs were the two things most complained about. Will be more enthusiastic when this month old restaurant sorts out the wrinkles for now, no thanks!"
