This “crazily busy” branch of Shabir Hussain’s Bradford-based group “still delivers great curry and their specialism of over-sized naan”. It’s one of the few places that lists camel (‘on the bone’) on its menu.

This much-loved curry house is perennially busy (“you have to queue”) for good reasons: the food is both “delicious” and “cheap ’n’ cheerful” – £14.95 buys a ‘meat feast balti, gigantic naan and pilau rice’, and if you can clear your plate dessert comes free.

“A Manchester institution”“you have to queue”, but once through the doors of this “pile-them-in” Pakistani, the reward is “delicious”, “great value” food (not least “incredible naan breads”) with “a bit of showmanship”.

“It’s well worth the horrific wait!” to eat at this “mentally busy” Pakistani. “You queue outside, before being penned in to the front bar area to wait for your buzzer to go off!” Once seated, you’re in an “echoey and noisy cavern”“a bit shabby and cheap” – but “great if you like buzzy”, and “fantastic value” for “a particularly tasty curry”.
