“Absolutely superb” regional Indian street food is the MO of this well-performing joint, also with a sibling in Hale; “usually everything they do is very good to excellent” (be it biryanis, dumplings or cocktails) and while “prices have crept up” a tad of late, “no surprise there and it could be much worse”.

There are “no duds” on the menu at this south Manchester duo (with branches in Hale and Didsbury), which champions street foods from India’s regions – Calcutta kathi rolls, momo dumplings from the north, Kerala-style prawns. “Starters are fantastic – subtle, light, layered. Mains are again good – fresh and subtle, not overly heavy and cloying”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
