Off Deansgate, Basque chef Josetxo Arrieta’s über-modern (or “rather garish”, depending on taste) two-year-old has already made quite a name for itself. Yet while some fans cite “exceptional” food as proof that it’s “probably the best of the new tapas venues” in town, critics felt that it’s rather “ho hummm-y” – “fine”, but “nothing that captivates”.
