“Interesting and well-prepared local food”“now with a Middle Eastern influence” – is on the menu at this idyllic spot from the four Crouch brothers, aka the CSONS. “The pleasure of dining here is derived not just from the good food but also the location at Dirham Weir, beside the River Teme, with wildlife to watch and even the chance of spotting an otter”.

Maybe avoid the culinary fireworks for which this foodie town is known, and head to this gorgeously situated café, with a “really nice outdoor space” near the River Teme and beneath the walls of Ludlow Castle. Run by local food heroes, the Crouch brothers (who also operate in Shrewsbury) it provides tea, coffee, cakes, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday night.

A “stunning location” near the Teme, and beneath the walls of Ludlow Castle, marries with “some lovely Lebanese dishes” (but also other globally inspired fare) at this “great casual place” run by the Crouch brothers. As of October 2021, they were again set to open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, expanding their current offering of breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

“Everything is very fresh and full-flavoured” at this “great riverside venue” run by the four Crouch brothers, overlooking the Teme at Dinham weir, beneath the dramatic walls of Ludlow Castle. It’s a “relaxed and friendly” spot, “ideal for meeting friends” for an “excellent breakfast or lunch”, with dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
