A “different take on Indian favourites, which you can watch being made in the open kitchen” combines with “retro glamour” styling to good effect at this three-year-old behind St Martin-in-the-Fields: an “excellent concept”, “almost like a copy-cat of Dishoom, but way more relaxed”. “Wow, every dish on the menu is a treat” at this year-old modern culinary mash-up, backed by Ennismore Capital, which combines the trad British chophouse with northern Indian techniques and spicing, in an atmospheric, wood-panelled space, just behind St Martin-in-the-Fields.
“Succulent and delicious tandoori dishes, offering a different experience of Indian cooking”, win fans for this “approachable” newcomer near Trafalgar Square, whose evocative panelled decor seems to owe a fair amount of inspiration to Dishoom. For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
