Summary

“When all you want is an old-school burger”, these US-based arrivals of recent years really “hit the spot” – you can “build your own”, with “tons of accessories”; plus “seriously addictive fries”, “thick milkshakes”, and “more soda flavours than is reasonable”. “The eat-in experience is as depressing as McDonald’s”, though, in fact perhaps more so – “some branches have a strangely gloomy ambience” – but fans feel that “if you don’t mind 1980s-rock, a trip can still be surprisingly fun”.

Summary

“Elevating the fast food experience” – this fast-growing US-based chain provides “a better class of quick burger” (with a good variety of toppings), plus “fries that are so savoury, and so-tasty milkshakes almost too thick to suck through a straw!” (“just don’t watch the calories…”). On the downside, “the ambience leaves a lot to be desired: it feels like a less glamorous McDonalds!”

Summary

“A guilty pleasure” that’s “a real step up in fast food” (“no table service”) – this US-based chain may look “Spartan”, but serves “the juiciest, most delicious burgers” (“it must be the peanut oil they fry them in”), alongside “yummy fries in huge portions” and “top shakes”. Also, “it’s ideal for fussy people as you build your own (with multiple free topping choices)”. “Sure, it’s expensive, but leagues ahead of McDonald’s and Burger King; but with none of the pretence of Byron”.

Summary

“McDonald’s makes more effort on the decor!”, but these “amped-up fast food” joints do “great customisable burgers” (“be prepared to get messy”), “massive portions of fries”, and “interesting, more-ish shakes”.
