This “high-quality” Indian has fed happy Notting Hill diners “with some style and on metal platters” for more than 30 years, and – having taken over the premises of an Italian trattoria back in the day – has always had a contemporary look. The odd regular says “is it me, or has this old favourite gotten a bit tired?”, but perhaps that’s more a comment on how outstanding it once was, as its overall feedback is pretty solid.

“A long-time favourite”, this stalwart Notting Hill curry house “always delivers”, even after more than 30 years, and offers a “nice mix of unusual as well as usual menu items”. Ratings have tumbled from previous highs this year – perhaps just partly a reflection of the “sharp increase in competition and quality among modern Indian restaurants”.

“Amazing Indian food”“still inventive and fresh”, “even after well over 30 years” – maintains this distinctive (it looks more like an Italian restaurant) and distinguished curry house off Notting Hill Gate as “a real gem”. “Staff are nearly as lovely as the delicious menu.”

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
