“Unbelievably delicious crab” – of the Arctic red king variety, served cold with dipping sauces or baked over charcoal – is presented fast-food-style alongside other seafood and fish at this three-year-old concept in Marylebone. To fans, it’s a “great idea” to offer luxury ingredients at such “good value”, although limited feedback suggests it’s yet fully to win hearts and minds amongst reporters.

“Excellent crab” is the cornerstone offer at this year-old Marylebone concept, with a menu offering red king crab from the north Pacific in numerous guises, which is “indeed as good as lobster but larger and loads cheaper”; other items are “uneven” and “overpriced”, while the venue “feels like a fast-food chain” or a “nightclub, with its noisy tables and music”.

Summary

Although the name suggests the opposite, this all-day Marylebone restaurant promises ‘accessibly priced’ seafood – with Red King Crab as the star dish. Have this North Pacific Ocean crustacean cold on ice with dipping sauce and pickle; grilled with butter, thyme and hollandaise sauce; tempura-style crab claws; crab salad; Singaporean chilli crab or as a Fancy Crab Burger!

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
