Joining José Pizarro at the RA is this less formal tapas bar from the star Spaniard slowly taking over London; we expect this one to be more like his Bermondsey tapas joint.
Harden's survey result
Joining José Pizarro at the RA is this less-formal tapas bar from the star Spaniard. The RA’s food operations in recent years have always conformed to the low expectations of gallery catering generally, but our hunch is that José didn’t get the memo telling him that no great shakes are expected, and that actually it may be rather good...
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Poster Bar at the RA Restaurant Diner Reviews
"To be honest I’ve had better food and service from Pret and at half the price. The Bar is cramped, whoever designed the customer service routine needs retraining: there were three people behind the bar. Only one seemed to be able to take orders and that just for desserts. There was a pile of used crockery on the counter and the poor woman serving us was trying to wash up, take orders, make coffee. The almond cake we ordered was dry and pretty unappealing. We were served coffee in paper cups despite some (quite nice) crockery - but it was all dirty. Pricy. The owner needs to take a hard look at this operation."
