“Still vibrant and alive after all these years” – Will Ricker’s Notting Hill haunt survived its heady A-list celebrity of the early noughties, and even though critics say “you go here to show off your body, or your new friends, to whoever’s around”, its ethos has actually remained surprisingly un-snooty over the years. Foodwise, it’s “no longer breaking new ground with its pan-Asian tastes and mixtures”, but remains a “very fun” option for a superior cocktail with some “eclectic”, SE Asian fusion bites. In mid-2019, its King’s Road sibling, Eight Over Eight – already something of a chip off the old block – was refurbed and relaunched as E&O Chelsea.
“Still a great fusion restaurant”, Will Ricker’s pan-Asian tapas and cocktail hang-out in Notting Hill is “buzzing”, if no longer thronged with the celebs of yesteryear. “Dependably good food, happy service, silly prices, and always very silly Notting Hill hipsters vogue-ing at the bar!”
It’s no longer the A-lister magnet it once was, but Will Ricker’s buzzy Notting Hill haunt still “keeps a high standard” of “great cocktails” and “wonderful” pan-Asian tapas.
“Still full and fun!” – Will Ricker’s “vibrant” Notting Hill hangout may be “a bit predictable” nowadays in terms of its “well seasoned and spiced” pan-Asian tapas, but no-one very much minds, and its yummy cocktails still slip down very nicely.
E&O Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Ambience ruined by oppressively loud and pounding Ibiza-style dance music, which might be tolerable in Ibiza but is out of place in a venue where people actually want to engage in conversation. "
"A not very memorable lunch. Maybe it was the company. I expect it’s kicking in the evening but in the daylight it seemed a bit bland."
