NYC bistro launched a site here in late 2020 (takeaway only until April 2021) to join outposts in Paris and Tokyo; like the original there's French-inspired décor and menu, plus a shop and natural wines.
Harden's survey result
“Really loved discovering Buvette in Paris so was excited to see them opening in London… but while the food was good, the interior lacks the heart of its Paris neighbour” – this cute ‘gastrothèque’ in Notting Hill is part of an NYC-based group and hasn’t made too many waves since it opened in 2020. The extensive drinks offering is a lot longer than its menu of brunch-friendly fare (Les Croques, Salades, Les Oeufs Vapeur) alongside one or two slightly more substantial options (e.g. Steak Tartare or Salmon Rillettes).
“A recent addition to Notting Hill – the London branch of an NYC original” – this cute ‘gastrothèque’ breezed into town in December 2020 via other spin-offs in Paris and Tokyo. In early reports, it’s best supported for its breakfast and brunch potential (from 8am, with croques, and scrambled egg also available on the later all-day menu), but – as the name hints – the long list of wines, beers, cocktails, cidres and other imbibements forms much of the offering.
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
