Harden's says
Opening summer 2025 in the Rosewood Chancery hotel, in the former US Embassy in Mayfair’s Grosvenor Square, the revival of Le Caprice, the one-time celeb-magnet in St James’s that closed down during the pandemic. Owner Richard Caring promises a “chic, comfortable and classic” mix of old and new.

Summary
Arlington (see also), owned by Jeremy King, now occupies the former Le Caprice site, but Richard Caring still owns the brand name of this storied venue, which he is looking to recreate elsewhere in the capital, presumably as a prelude to a ‘roll out’ along similar lines to that of The Ivy. Step one in this plan for world domination is a debut in the £1billion new Rosewood Hotel, open in September 2025, which occupies the former site of the now-relocated American Embassy on Grosvenor Square. Set over two levels, the main area will incorporate 120 covers around a bar, with a further 88 on a year-round terrace.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
