A “straightforward Chinatown classic”: this long-standing, “very authentic” destination provides a “good central location for inexpensive – and always reliable – dim sum” as well as roast meat.
“My go-to place for dim sum”, this substantial Chinatown operation looks “rather touristy” but pleases the crowd with Cantonese favourites including “the best roast duck in town”. It now has an offshoot in the new Bang Bang Oriental food hall in Colindale.
“If in doubt in Chinatown, you won’t go far wrong” if you choose this busy staple which is “worth the ten minute wait for dim sum and decent noodles” (and there’s also “a very interesting menu in Chinese”). “I took some fussy Chinese friends there and they were pleasantly surprised!”.STOP PRESS: A Collindale outpost opened summer 2017 (see Bang Bang Oriental).
A Chinatown “staple” that perennially “scores for dim sum”. It’s “always buzzy despite the Soviet-era interior design, probably because the food quality’s high”.
