“Like an old London club”, this traditional Mayfair dining room is “spacious” and “there is absolutely no rush to serve you and get you out”. In a similar vein, “you wouldn’t necessarily go there for the food”, except for the afternoon tea in the adjoining ‘Conservatory’, go for the classic or novelty-themed version (it’s currently ‘The Original Sweetshop’).

Our warm and intimate Butlers Restaurant, famously the home of "the best Dover Sole in London", offers elegant dining matched by first class service. As popular with local residents as it is with hotel guests, the fresh English cuisine tempered with international touches of Nathan Hindmarsh is an example of understated excellence in the heart of London's most exclusive district.

 

Using only the freshest carefully sourced ingredients, Nathan also serves a selection of the comfort foods we all crave from time to time - which guests find most welcome after a busy day exploring all that London has to offer.

The dishes combine Nathan's talents and love of producing a perfect harmony of flavours, with the influence of Beatrice Tollman, President and Founder of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection. Beatrice has a particular passion for food and entrusts her famous signature dishes to Nathan. A traditional roast from the carving trolley is a daily feature, while the À La Carte menu includes exquisite Orkney king scallops and our famous hand-chopped Aberdeen Angus sirloin steak. Delicious vegetarian dishes are always available, as is a range of delicious desserts. To accompany your meal we offer an extensive selection of wines from the Wine Room, many served by the glass as well as by the half bottle.

 

The restaurant is closed for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays but we will be delighted to serve you Afternoon Tea from 12:30pm and also serving light snacks and meals in the comfort of the Terrace Bar.

The chef

Nathan Hindmarsh began his career in a small Italian restaurant, before moving on to The Chesterfield Mayfair, where he worked for four years, learning and developing his culinary skills with a great team. Nathan then moved across to Paris and worked in some of the top French restaurants gaining a wealth of experience, before returning to The Chesterfield Mayfair once again.

 

Private dining

At The Chesterfield Mayfair we appreciate that each business meeting, conference or social gathering is different and we offer a dynamic and flexible approach to customising each event accordingly. From the outset our professional and experienced team, including your very own Events Coordinator, will organise all elements from the style of the room to the audio/visual equipment and special dining requests.


 


There are a variety of private areas available depending on the nature of your event. Rooms include:


The Conservatory-  Situated on the ground floor of the hotel, adjacent to the Terrace Bar, the marble-floored Conservatory is ideal for meetings, reception drinks, lunches and dinners. Seating up to 30 guests on an oval table, 40 guests at round tables and 25 guests at a boardroom table, the light and airy room is perfect for your special event.


 


The Salon - The hexagonal-shaped Salon provides an ideal environment for meetings and dinners for up to six people. With its comfortable leather “12 hour” chairs and its three floor to ceiling windows and air-conditioning, The Salon remains a firm favourite.


 


The Royal Suite - Ideal for larger meetings, conferences and events, the Royal Suite is elegantly furnished with tasteful décor. With abundant natural daylight and individually controlled air-conditioning, the room is perfect for daytime or evening functions.
