Harden's survey result
Summary
“It feels like a proper Gallic bistro”; and this ‘petit coin’ of Mayfair’s cute and atmospheric Shepherd Market is reasonably “authentic” all-round – “the classic French cooking takes you away on holiday” all without leaving W1, and it’s most popular as a place for wooing a date.

Summary
Crowded and charming, long-established bistro, which creates a “proper Gallic buzz” in Mayfair’s picturesque Shepherd Market. With its “lovely” main dining room and attractive outdoor seating in summer, it used to be a higher profile destination, but its ratings have slightly come off the boil in recent years. It’s still pretty popular though, particularly as a business lunching choice.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Boudin Blanc Restaurant Diner Reviews

"Apparently a long term favourite of our Ozzie friends, over to visit their son at Christmas. It had only just reopened that day. No question it is French. It was, also, quite empty and perhaps the reason for it being rather chilly! Two of us had the Provencal fish soup, very tasty although not perhaps generous a quantity, and two, the onion soup, pronounced very good by my wife. Two had the halibut, fish of the day, not bad, but a bit cold, my wife's cod (ditto) and one a starter of scallops. Creme Brûlée, two between four, for dessert. Saumur white wine was a bit sharp, I thought, although the Ozzies liked it. A pleasant if slightly underwhelming experience, made wonderful meeting up with someone I trained with forty years ago. I think Mon Plaisir does the authentic French bistro thing better, and cheaper."

"Very lively and atmospheric but overpriced for the quality of the food unfortunately. Not bad but not amazing"
