Harden's survey result
Summary
By the standards of openings in posh London hotels by Gallic über-chefs – Yannick Alleno holds 17 Michelin stars across his global stable of 19 restaurants – this two-year-old operation on the ground floor of a swish Park Lane five-star is a fine effort, and highly rated by diners in our annual poll. The cuisine is luxurious and “very accomplished” but in a deceptively homespun style: dishes such as a millefeuille using wagyu beef (it should be good, it’s £179); ‘Badaboum’ egg with caviar; or Dover Sole filetted at table; plus a selection of elevated pasta dishes. Despite its high-end options, overall pricing is relatively approachable too, starting at dinner with four courses for £85 per person. Top Tip – “Brunch of dreams – a totally luxurious and decadent breakfast spot”.
Summary
On the ground floor of a luxurious Park Lane five star – complete with its own pavement entrance – this year-old newcomer is a showcase for Parisian chef Yannick Alléno (who holds 15 Michelin stars worldwide and whose empire globally includes two other ‘Pavyllons’). The interior is stylish – if in a slightly anodyne kind of way – and “the tables are a good size and reasonably spaced so it’s particularly good for business”. The “well-executed” menu has its fair share of luxury ingredients, but is not particularly ‘foodie’; and you can eat à la carte or choose the four-course (£85 per person) or six-course (£110 per person) ‘Immersive Mayfair’ menu. Top Tip – “there is an excellent set lunch deal (at the reasonable price of £55.50 per person)”.
Summary
Parisian uber-chef Yannick Alléno – who holds a total of 15 Michelin stars at 17 restaurants across the globe – made his London debut this summer at this July 2023 launch. Since the days of Bruno Loubet in the early ’90s, the quietly glamorous Four Seasons has – for all its other virtues – lacked a high profile flagship eatery. Let’s hope that this newcomer inspires more local excitement than its more established near neighbour on Park Lane, run by the holder of the world’s most Michelin Stars (in that case 21): Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester. With main dishes around £50, the à la carte pricing here is a little vertigo-inspiring, but the offering of a set two-course lunch option under £50 and a tasting menu under £100 suggest a desire to tempt the locals to try it out.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Pavyllon, The Four Seasons Hotel Restaurant Diner Reviews
"The cheese soufflé starter had a horrible sauce poured over it. They brought me the wrong main dish so I ended up eating it on my own while the others waited to order dessert. They couldn't organise themselves so that my coffee and dessert arrived at the same time. I had to wait 10 minutes for the coffee. That is a sign of poor service. I didn't hear a single English accent from the coat check to the wine waiter to the food server. And no sign of a manager who came to check everything was well. Pavyllon does NOT deserve a Michelin Star."
"Lamb, monkfish excellent "
