“Every dish is good” at this long-running tapas bar in South Kensington. Regulars, though, reckon it’s “not quite up to the experience” of its sibling opposite, Cambio de Tercio, with which it shares a list of “excellent” Spanish wines (“it’s clearly tapas from a chef more familiar with fine dining, leaning towards the elegant rather than a solid punch of flavour”).

“Innovative and exquisite tapas” and “excellent (if pricey) Spanish wines” have long attracted Hispanophiles to this bar, directly opposite its older sibling, Cambio de Tercio. “Lighting and service are top-notch”, too. The only complaint is that “the buzzy ambience can change quickly to unpleasantly loud when there are too many groups in”.

This “buzzy neighbourhood stalwart” in South Ken has long been known as a good bet for “top tapas”. Its older sibling, directly across the road, is Cambio de Tercio, a leading light of Hispanic cuisine in London.

“Some of the most reliably good tapas in London”“delicious and perfectly executed” – plus “an interesting, if pricey wine list” can be found at this “vibrant”, black-and-red liveried offshoot of Cambio de Tercio, the South Ken fixture, directly opposite. “Constant innovation” in the kitchen means there’s “always something different and appetising” on the menu.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
