Summary
Robin Gill’s “excellent neighbourhood restaurant” – with “a delicious menu of top-quality Italian dishes” inspired by the Amalfi coast – is nowadays his only Clapham venue since the closure of the nearby Dairy (RIP). “The wonderful service and top-class food make this a local go-to.” Top Tip: “amazing arancini” (truffle or beef short rib and black garlic).
Summary
“A great local addition that’s worth travelling to”: Robin Gill’s small, neighbourhood three-year-old, near his Clapham HQ, The Dairy, takes its inspiration from the Amalfi coast, and its traditionally presented Italian dishes (cicchetti, antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci) are consistently “wonderful”; and it’s “good fun” too.
Summary
“A great local addition that’s worth travelling to”: Robin Gill’s small, neighbourhood two-year-old, near his Clapham HQ, The Dairy, takes its inspiration from the Amalfi coast, and its traditionally presented Italian dishes (cicchetti, antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci) are consistently “wonderful”; and it’s “good fun” too.
Summary
An “excellent new Italian, with pasta to die for” – Irish chef Robin Gill’s year-old relaunch of his popular The Manor, around the corner from his Clapham HQ The Dairy, takes culinary inspiration from the Amalfi coast. Reports are generally outstanding, and credit it with being a “worthy successor” on the site and “a valuable addition to the locality”. There’s a strong undercurrent, though, from those who were “left feeling rather underwhelmed” – they say it’s OK but “not as good as it thinks it is”. Top Tip – “go à la carte, the bigger portions are more suited to the cuisine than grazing on the tasting menu”.
For 31 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Sorella Restaurant Diner Reviews

"It's an interesting and tempting menu at Sorella. Reactions around the table varied, with a lot of oohs and aahs but also some comments about poor seasoning and textures. Overall the basic cooking skills seemed a bit inconsistent and left us feeling it was nearly great but not quite living up to the potential. "

"Good to be able to go back and have a meal in relaxed circumstances. Truffle ciccetti excellent, beef one good and the crumb in both cases very tasty. Primi - pappardelle with port ragu and monkfish main were good though missing a little seasoning and the flavour wasn't as deep as you might hope. Despite there being a lot of serving staff working the night we went our focaccia order went missing in action (though not on the bill so just forgotten) and there were a couple of pauses during service."
