Summary

This “no-nonsense”, “authentic, family-run caff” in Tooting split opinion this year. Most reporters still approve its “wide variety of unusual Sri Lankan specialities and incredibly good value thali selection” all at “cheap prices” in “a rather 1980s time-warp dining room”. Others though are more cautious: “tipped as one of the better south Indians in Tooting but very cramped and nothing out-of-the-ordinary in my experience”.

Summary

“Mind-bogglingly hot Sri Lankan and South Indian curries”, all at “bargain prices” make this family-run outfit in Tooting a must-visit. “Cafeteria-style by day and licensed restaurant (which resembles a suburban dining-room) by night”. Top Tip – “the lunchtime deal is astonishing value: a selection of vegetarian or non-veggie dishes and a soft drink for a fiver”.

Summary

“It’s bit like eating in someone’s back sitting-room” (which is exactly what it is!), but this “modest” family-run outfit in Tooting provides “great flavours from some unusual Sri Lankan and South Indian specialities” and is “very good value for money”.

Summary

“Despite its humble interior, well worth a visit” – a family-run Tooting Sri Lankan (the dining space is a converted living room) where the “tasty” grub is “ridiculously good value”.

"Fairly basic in terms of ambiance but this is a good Sri Lankan restaurant on Tooting High Street which managed to please 11 of us one very cold winter evening."
