Billed as England’s only Kashmiri specialist, this Putney four-year-old offers something “genuinely different from the standard Indian fare” – and it’s “always delicious”. Chef Rohit Razdan and his wife Shweta have previously had restaurants in New Delhi and Singapore.

“An upscale addition to Putney’s diverse Indian dining scene, Kashmir is the restaurant we locals didn’t know we needed!” – “a distinct cut above a typical local cuzza”, with “genuinely delightful” service and regional Kashmiri dishes (as well as more usual options) that are “sensitively-spiced and freshly-cooked, with good depth of flavour”.
“On the site of longstanding Samratt” (RIP), on a side street off Putney High Street, this “extremely hospitable” yearling “has raised the bar for Indian cuisine in SW15”. “A short but interesting and carefully prepared menu, and a calm atmosphere makes for a good combination, albeit at the pricier end of the range”.
For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
