As of autumn 2020, this super-swanky five-star hotel bordering Sloane Street sits behind scaffolding as it waits to emerge from a massive renovation project. The site of its well-known dining room has shifted about over the years, and in recent times its focus on traditional British meat dishes has been (somewhat) diluted. What’s next has yet to be announced but they passed up a partnership with Tom Kerridge a couple of years back – will what emerges be as exciting as what he’s nowadays established at The Corinthia?
Smart and luxurious dining room, off the lobby of a super-swanky five-star hotel bordering Sloane Street, whose focus on traditional meat dishes has been (somewhat) diluted over the years, with the introduction of a wider menu. Even so it’s the “melting rib-eye” and other cuts which inspire most praise here, which is most popular as a business haunt: “relaxed, and ideal for talking the deal”.
Lost in the Gucci-clad international black hole that is the upper end of Sloane Street, this luxurious dining room (relaunched in late 2017) has long been known for its steaks and prime beef. Feedback was limited, but conformed to the age-old theme here: good but ferociously pricey.
This luxurious Sloane Street address, long known as a temple to roast beef and steak – will reopen in late 2017 as the new London vehicle for Marlow’s ‘Hand & Flowers’ chef, Tom Kerridge. What we know from the PR so far: it will keep the name, it will evoke the spirit of Knightsbridge in the swinging ’60s (groovy baby), and it will aim to be good value (not something the site has achieved hitherto).
