Chef Henry Freestone has worked in some of the hippest kitchens around town, including nearby Peckham Cellars and east London’s Crispin and Bambi. Here he delivers a no-nonsense, modern British menu with three-four options at each course.

"A great place I discovered when going to Lewisham hospital on a visit. The venue is almost opposite ladywell station. It is is nicely laid out reasonable space between tables. Greeted and taken to my table, chose the back part as it was cooler and there was an AC unit. The menu isn't long for lunch, but enough on it for me. Started with beef nuggets will horseradish. Well made with a nice crunch, great texture and flavour. Main was moules with frites. My only complaint, as I told chef afterwards, supply bread to mop up the delicious sauce. Apparently the cremeaux wasnt available so chocolate tart instead with a light creamy topping which was a lovely way to end the meal. Drank a nice seedlip and tonic with the meal. Service reasonably attentive though waiter had a long chat with other customers whilst I was waiting to order dessert. Touilet clean and accessible down steep stairs."
