Harden's survey result
Summary
“Super authentic and tasty” Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki is served amid a “canteen-type vibe” at chef Daisuke Shimoyama’s informal spot at the rear of the old County Hall building on London’s South Bank (until recently, next to its sibling Hannah – now recreated as Stratford’s Kokin, see also). A buckwheat pancake is cooked on a hotplate in front of you with cabbage, spring onion, beansprouts, noodles and ginger plus a choice of meat or prawns and topped with special sauce and mayo – a hearty meal “perhaps best suited to lunch”.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
