* Based on a three course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT.

“Cheap but very tasty Malaysian food” provides a “compelling reason” to choose this well-established fixture in a Chinatown alleyway. (Its former Bayswater sibling still has ‘C&R’ in the title, but is now separately run as a Japanese izakaya.)

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Do not trust these rude scammers. They overcharged my Malaysian friend simply because they only accept £10 and above for card payments and his meal was £9.50. Lady raised her voice at him and did not even offer to pay back the 50p in cash. There was also a strand of hair in my fried rice. My friend also says it's bland despite the owners being Malaysians themselves. Just embarassing."
