Mixed reports have knocked its ratings this year. Fans reckon it is “always reliable and consistently good”, but for a fair few critics, “the quality has been slipping a bit lately” (“variable, and on our last visit, poor”).
The “fine, traditional French cuisine” at chef-proprietor Lynne Sanders’s small and smartly turned-out bistro is “worth a trip to Crouch End”. “It’s a lovely venue with a good vibe”, and has become a local fixture after 15 years on the site.

“They say it’s in Crouch End, but it feels like rural France” – so say fans of this “small”, “closely packed” and rather “romantic” fixture, which serves “traditional” bistro fare that’s “well-executed and presented”.
