This Victorian-era local on Newington Green relaunched three years ago as a gastropub and has “maintained its standards” despite rising popularity – “long may it stay that way”. The blackboard menu “tries hard to cater for all tastes”… and by all accounts largely succeeds. Craft beers and “reasonably priced” wines also go down well.
“A better-than-average gastropub” on the corner of Newington Green, “whose properly-prepared dishes are at a level of skill which is increasingly rare in pub restaurants”. Top Tip: “secret weekday lunch treat – a choice of three or four dishes from only £6!”
“A great addition to local eateries” – this handsome, “recently refurbished pub” on the corner of Newington Green was relaunched in February 2016 and provides “excellent food” from an open kitchen at good prices.
Lady Mildmay Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Great value midweek lunchtime menu - £6 plates - plus outstanding and reasonably priced Sunday lunch. A handful of the a la carte mains wind up pricier than you may think relative to their size but some great cooking across the piece in friendly local boozer."
