June 2018: The original Chick 'n' Sours in Haggerston had a facelift in Summer 2018, and re-opened with a whole new drinking experience downstairs in the form of a late-night bar called Sub Culture.
Harden's survey result
“Sublimely juicy chicken with absurdly crunchy coating” – “like KFC pimped to the max” with “must-have dips such as Kewpie mayo and Sriracha sour cream” – have won high ratings for this free-range chicken and sour cocktails duo in Haggerston and Covent Garden (and from September 2018 in Islington too). “It’s so good I can’t stop going back!”.
“Crispy and spicy Korean-style fried chicken” and “well-considered cocktails” are the deal at this Dalston joint with “all the hipster credentials – dark interior, bearded staff and mono menu”. Portions are “surprisingly big”.
On Dalston’s main drag, a “fun and buzzy” little fried chicken specialist from pop-up maestro Carl Clarke, where poultry is given an oriental twist and accompanied by sour cocktails – it’s an “excellent” combo.
