“A sort of neighbourhood bistro, just beyond the touristy influence of the South Kensington museums” – the main survivor of an erstwhile chain (there’s also a Stratford sibling no-one talks about) “offering British upmarket pub food”, which is variable to good. It’s “a nice and warming place”, but it can become “rather busy and noisy”; and “service, while cheerful and pleasant, is extremely variable”.
“Buzzy and informal”, this pair of farm-to-fork brasseries in South Kensington and Westfield Stratford (shrunk from a mini-chain) “have some interesting English dishes on the menu” which “can be good”. But they are “still unbelievably variable”, and “can be rather noisy and chaotic”.
This “comfy and slightly rustic” West London mini-chain featuring British fare is reduced in numbers nowadays and its performance “continues to vary wildly”. Fans, though, say the service “may be chaotic but is always cheerful”, “love the farm-to-table options”, and find it OK value.
“Some days are really good, other days distinctly ordinary” at this rustically styled chain, where the odd report is of total disaster, but the best praise a “buzzy” atmosphere, plus “good and typically British” dishes.
