Originally in Shoreditch, the celebrated Peruvian restaurant Andina has moved to a bigger location on the City fringe, which also has a basement bar; officially relaunching in May, but already open for delivery and takeaway.

“Bustling, friendly, full of colour and fresh tastes, with lots of fascinating choices (including a whole section of the menu devoted to ceviche)” – these trendily located Peruvians win many upbeat reviews and the general feeling is “they’re not a case of style over substance – flavour combinations work well”. They are “pricey” though – “while the food was very good, I’m not sure it was great value, probably thanks to the prime location, so I won’t rush back”. Notting Hill is the latest site with a ‘panaderia’ (bakery) as well as the ‘picanteria’.

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
