“Set in wonderful historic space” (Hull’s oldest domestic building) – Chris Harrison’s (ex Fat Duck) “old town gem” of a pub is part of his local street food empire (which this year added a new outlet in Trinity Market). Even those who find the “quirky” menu “confusing”, and feel the “elements of the ambitious food don’t always work together”, feel it’s an “obliging” place with a good standard of achievement.

“The City of Culture at its best!”“the first pub operated by the award-winning (street food outfit) Shoot The Bull” is a hipster destination set in Hull’s “pretty old town” (in its oldest domestic dwelling). Chef Chris Harrison (ex-Fat Duck and 1884 Dock Street Kitchen) has “years of experience”, resulting in a menu of “surprising creativity” spanning ‘street food’ (“burgers bursting with flavour with truffle chips to die for”) to more “exciting taste combinations”.

For 29 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. This year diners have submitted over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK.
