Harden's says
Richard and Lindsey Johns, the powerhouse team of two behind Rascills in Raskelf (RIP), have bought this village inn (formerly known as The Malt Shovel); they opened the pub and restaurant on 31 July 2019, with guest rooms following within a year. "Modern British classics" with Sunday roasts will be on the menu.

Seasoned restaurateurs Richard (chef) and Lindsey Johns (FOH) earnt their stripes with the award-winning Artisan in Hessle; for their latest gastropub project – as of 2019 – they've smartened up the former Malt Shovel pub and now turn out “excellent food, whether it is for Sunday lunch or a romantic meal for two” (perhaps based around their signature Chateaubriand). It’s often noted for its “exceptional value”.
