This former ballroom gains most praise for its “great breakfast/brunch” that makes “a brilliant way to start the weekend, with lots of free top-up coffee and newspapers to read”. In addition to “the best brews, home bakes and bagels”, there’s also a full dinner menu featuring sustainable local produce.
It “tries to be a trendy drinks and nibbles spot” and this converted ballroom seemingly succeeds; head upstairs for all-day dining (majoring in steaks, ribs and burgers) and to the downstairs café for “the best coffee (courtesy of the legendary Faema E71) top service and delicious bagels”.
“You climb steep stairs, and it’s a bit noisy, but it’s worth a visit” to this impressive space with open kitchen, which occupies a lofty former ballroom, and serves a “delicious” menu majoring in char-grilled steaks, ribs and burgers, but with lots of choice for non meat-eaters. (Reporters “love the coffee shop” downstairs, too; barista “Magda is a star” and the fancy Faema E71 makes “by far the best coffee around”).
