“One of a small chain of reasonably priced eateries in Hertfordshire specialising in sustainability and quality ingredients”, born off the Portobello Road in 2002; even if it’s not hitting its original heights, by all accounts “you’re on safe ground” at the eighteenth-century converted coach house (fish is particularly rated) and fans just “love the outside courtyard space” too.

It is part of a five-strong Herts-based group (Berkhamsted the most recently opened) with a strong emphasis on sustainable fish.

Stop Press – in December 2021, owner Andrei Lussmann was due to add a fifth branch, Lussmanns Sustainable Fish & Grill restaurant, to his Herts group, on the site of the old Bills in Berkhamsted.
