Harden's says
Occupying the former site of ASKR in Constitution Street, the second branch of this fish and seafood specialist originating in the New Town is from prolific chef Dean Banks, who also runs the Pompadour in Edinburgh and Haar in St Andrews.
Harden's survey result
Summary
Following on from his City Centre venue, Dean Banks launched this second spin-off in Leith in November 2024: a seafood specialist which has only generated limited reviews in our annual diners’ poll as yet, but where what we have is all optimistic (“a lovely fish restaurant with delicious, reliable fish dishes, as close as you can get these days to proper serving of dishes such as ‘Sole Veronique’”). His original ‘Dulse’ in the West End (at 17 Queensferry Street) also inspired praiseworthy feedback (“an excellent selection of food and an ample selection of wines. Watch out for special offers which make it more palatable to the wallet!)”.
For 34 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
