* Based on a three course dinner, half a bottle of wine, coffee, cover charge, service and VAT.

This “consistently entertaining” and “very French bistro (better than many in France nowadays!)” is a “reliable” source of reasonably priced classic dishes, with “friendly” (if “slightly chaotic) service”. The Antigua Street branch closed down a couple of years ago.

This “proper French” bistro with an “atmosphere to match” (“very cramped if it’s full”) serves “enjoyable, reliable food at very reasonable prices”. A sister branch in Antigua Street closed down in June 2018.

This “friendly and fun” bistro has a “proper French atmosphere” and “offers good value” for money by the city’s standards; same goes for the Antigua Street sibling.

A “no-nonsense French bistro”, in New Town, where the “great food” also comes at a “great price”. There’s an equally well-liked sibling on Antigua Street.

"One of several long established French restaurants in Edinburgh which make you feel as if you had walked into a bistro in Paris. This is a very small space but in many ways that adds to the ambiance. The food reflects the standard you would expect in a local bistro in France. Always busy"
