“A very decent choice in the posh neighbourhood of Morningside” – Roisin & Matthias Llorente’s “very friendly” and “always reliable” bistro has a strong fanclub, both amongst the locals and visitors who have truffled it out, some of whom would say it’s “Edinburgh’s top dining option” thanks its “exceptionally well-prepared” and reasonably priced modern Scottish dishes and “personal” service.

The “perfect neighbourhood bistro(t)”“a lovely little place a little way out of the centre” in Morningside “but well worth the taxi ride or walk to get there”. “It’s not exactly cheap ’n’ cheerful but very good value, using excellent ingredients and the cooking has a nice local feel”. “Staff are brilliant and very knowledgeable” and overall this remains one of the most satisfactory places to eat in the city.

“What a find!” – a tucked-away and affordable Morningside bistro where the local/seasonal food (from an “interesting and unusual menu”) is “always exceptionally good”. Add in “friendly, professional service” and it’s several reporters’ “restaurant of choice”.

“The local everybody would like to have” – alas, only Morningside residents can lay claim to this cosy bistro with French-Gaelic cuisine that’s “just lovely”.
