“In the lovely setting of a half-timbered house in Cookham high street” – and “beautifully restored after a fire” two years back – this “good-quality” Indian “offers far more varied dishes than are available on the average high street”, and its “fantastic value Sunday buffet” remains of particular note.
Consistently “first-rate” Indian cuisine has earned this high street fixture a deserved reputation; Heston Blumenthal, no less, has sung its praises. It also, somewhat surprisingly, occupies “the best-looking half-timbered building in the village”. Top Tip: “the Sunday buffet is amazing value”.
Very solid all-round marks again for this well-known fixture on the high street, whose deft and refined Indian cooking is in pleasant contrast to the very traditional old cottage that it inhabits.
“In a cosy, fire-lit old cottage” with “great character”, this “gem” of a high street Indian maintains its renown for “lovely and unusual dishes” – “incredibly fresh, with generous use of herbs and spices”.
