“Friendly staff and one hell of a steak” earn solid praise for this converted pub with a focus on Scottish Highlands beef – part of a group with smaller branches in St Albans and Chandler’s Cross. It’s “not economical but great for a celebration” – and has a private dining room for parties.
“Excellent”, “good-quality steaks” have made this “newish neighbourhood grill” (in a converted pub) a “welcome addition to the culinary desert of Beaconsfield”. There’s a “lovely upstairs bar for pre-dinner drinks”, and “a few fish dishes and vegetarian options” to keep red-meat refuseniks happy.
A converted pub in the leafy outer ’burbs can seem like “an unlikely countrified location” for this “well appointed” steak house. Some reporters find it “hard to grade” (“variable…”, “good but not the best…”, “only makes financial sense on a BYO Monday”) but there are no serious complaints and fans say it’s a “super venue” with “excellent” food.
The main event – sourced from an HRH-approved butcher’s no less – is consistently “well cooked and tasty” at this former pub (nowadays an “always busy” country eatery).
