In March 2017, this converted chapel was morphed into a “lovely local bistro, with excellent food and service from the couple who run it, Holly and Dan” (the former, a grad of Gary Rhodes and the Galvin bros, is chef, she is FOH). The French-accented fare, from a shortish menu, is “well above the local standard” – for a “cheap and cheerful” culinary hit, it’s “faultless”.

For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
