Harden's says
(December 2025 update - no opening date yet for this much trailed debut). The second out-of-London outpost of Gordon Ker's all-conquering group was originally set to open in Autumn 2025 in Birmingham city centre, offering a modern take on the Great British chophouse. Situated in St Philip's House, the restaurant features a 100-seat dining area and bar overlooking Cathedral Square. Known for their quality meat sourced from award-winning Cornish family farmers, Blacklock prides itself on using the whole animal to create a diverse menu; with a focus on sustainability and exceptional value.

Summary
First Manchester, now Brum will be part of the expanding Blacklock empire in late 2025 with this planned opening in an old Victorian vicarage overlooking Cathedral Square, which comes complete with original wood panelling. Some specials are planned for the City as well as its trademark mix of ‘All Ins’ and Sunday Roasts and Granny’s White Chocolate Cheesecake, all washed down with cocktails a go go from the circulating trolley.
For 35 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
