Harden's survey result
The 15th-century Bull inn has been modernised in recent years, with young chef Andy Tabberner charged with producing a sophisticated modern menu. The results can be “a bit hit & miss, but more often hit than miss” – and the ratings are strong overall. (There’s also “lovely decor and outside area” in the cheaper ground floor brasserie).
Limited but positive feedback on the ‘posh’ upstairs dining room of this characterful, very ancient inn on the main street. There’s also a cheaper, brasserie conservatory annex at the back on the ground floor.
A “light, airy and modern annexe behind the ye-olde-decor of the front of the pub, in the main street of pretty Beaumaris”; the food – polished classics in the downstairs brasserie, and “fine dining at its best” in the elegant upstairs dining room (the more expensive The Loft) – makes it “well worth the diversion on the way to Holyhead”.
