Harden's survey result
Summary
“Slightly hidden away from the main shopping drag in Arundel”, this “calming, understated yet stylish” indie (est. 2015) inspires a large amount of highly positive feedback in our annual diners’ poll. Chef Lee Parsons is behind the “enjoyable, original and delectable” bistro-style cooking (noted for particularly “exceptional fish cookery” and a “great-value set lunch”), while “lovely” FOH wife Liz – whom he met while the duo were working at Claridge’s decades back – “really looks after you” too.
Summary
Launched in 2015 after a stellar career (Claridge’s, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, many a high-end Canadian hotel), Lee (& FOH wife Liz) Parsons’ small indie is a real local “favourite” that inspires many comments in our annual diners’ poll (booking is thus essential) focussing on “exquisite fresh ingredients whose combinations tantalise the tastebuds”. The “great-value set lunch” merits investigation, and “fish is the outstanding choice” as always.
Summary
“Delightful, fresh and delicious food served by friendly staff” make this “great local restaurant” an “exceptional find”. Chef Lee and foh Liz Parsons met working at Claridge’s and had a successful career in Vancouver before returning to open under their own name in 2015. “The fish is especially good, with delicate seasoning”, and there’s a “great-value set lunch”.
Summary
“This really is a little gem” – Lee & Liz Parsons's “dependably good” and “well-priced” restaurant continues to win nothing but praise for its “beautiful freshly cooked food and great daily specials”, and “service is exceptional” too. “Our go-to place when in the area.”
For 33 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

The Parsons Table Restaurant Diner Reviews
"A charming location with equally charming owners and staff. The covered terrace (where dogs are allowed) is more spacious and comfortable than appears in the pictures. The fish was uber-fresh and expertly cooked. Starters and puddings were also delicious. The wine list is not overly lengthy, but is varied and interesting, with a plentiful selection of decent wines by the glass. The set price for 2 or 3 courses is great value. Just a very pleasant lunch, all round, leaving you with a feeling of money well spent (which is unusual, these days). (If you are driving, allow 15 minutes to find a parking place.)"
"This was our first experience of The Parson Table for dinner and the warm, cosy atmosphere of the restaurant made for a lovely relaxed atmosphere, aided by the expert and gracious staff. All our food was spectacularly enjoyable, original and delectable without being fussy. My special of Cod with mussel and spring onion risotto deserves its own mention, as I think it was the best risotto I have ever had in a restaurant, here or abroad. My partner's roast cauliflower was just as interesting and tasty. We will be back, soon and regularly."
