Accused sometimes of “style over substance”, or attracting “loud wannabes with more money than sense” – the Yu family’s fashionable, pricey Asian in the heart of Cheshire’s WAG-belt is something of a see-and-be-seen location, but most reports are of a “classy offering that’s a cut-above”.
That its bar is “a well-known hangout for WAGs” leads to some accusations that this “stylish” Asian in chichi Alderley Edge is pricey and “too pretentious even by Cheshire standards”, but even critics say the “high quality” Chinese cuisine here is good, and for fans it’s “the best ever”.
Yu Alderley Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Dim sum Sunday lunch is way pricier and smaller portioned than anything in Manchester’s Chinatown but the quality is much higher and the setting swankier. Still a bit too pricey though. As much as hakkasan and not quite as good."
