It’s “a bit cramped”, admittedly – you sit on stools or round a shared table in the rear of a deli – “but the food is always reliably good and the wine list both excellent and reasonably priced” at this tapas joint and Spanish wine merchant. The owners have two other outposts: a Narberth spin-off, and Basque café/bar, Curado Bar, in Cardiff city-centre.
This well-known tapas and Spanish wine merchant is a “real find”, despite the “cramped” back-of-deli seating (on stools or at a shared table); the owners, who also run a Narberth sibling, launched tapas joint ‘Curado Bar’, in a former Burger King on Cardiff’s Westgate, in 2016.
A relaxed Spaniard of some renown for its “well-prepared, tasty tapas”, and whose owners are also “working to bring an imaginative range of Spanish wines (especially reds) onto its list”. Downside? The back-of-deli seating – high stools or a communal table – can make it feel “a bit cramped”.
“Fabulous tapas and wines” await at this “casual” Spanish haunt, where diners “sit on tall stools, or share a large round table” at the rear of the deli; one sceptic of the communal seating confesses that they nonetheless “always go back because of the very high standards…and the great (Iberian) wine list”. (Fans can plan a trip to Cardiff too, with the opening of their new Curado Bar in late 2016.)
