Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"An excellent meal at the Trout at Wolvercote - Scallops, followed by pork belly with dauphinoise potatoes. Well prepared and beautifully presented, and a pleasant surprise given that I'd heard that 'it wasn't what it used to be'. The wine list, although not lengthy was well balanced with respect to quality and price. Service was first class, and our table occupied a delightful little cubby hole. A splendid evening that excelled expectations."
