Harden's survey result
“Luxury, on all fronts” helps summarise the appeal of a meal at this well-known Lakeland hotel: originally built as a hunting lodge with a “gorgeous” wood-panelled, traditional dining room and “sensational views” over Lake Windermere. Fans applaud its “truly elegant” cuisine too, but ratings are capped by sceptics who consider the performance “overrated”.
“Lovely food and highly professional service in a beautiful Lakeland setting” have carved a big reputation for this luxurious old hunting lodge, which has “brilliant views” over Lake Windermere. Even the author of an ‘off report’, who considered the experience “pricey” and “not as impressive as hitherto” says the cooking is “competent to good”.
This “romantic” Lakes destination occupies a luxurious old hunting lodge with epic Windermere views. There are sporadic critiques (“pleasant enough, but not worth the money”) but no-one rates the quality of cuisine here as less than very good.
“With wonderful views across Windermere”, this “formal” dining room is part of an old-fashioned hunting lodge – nowadays a luxurious country house hotel. Despite being one of the better-known culinary destinations in the Lakes, it inspired strikingly little feedback this year: such as there was however, avoided the critiques of last year, praising its “romantic” style and “creative menu”.
