Small boutique hotel a short walk from Windermere with an attractive, traditional dining room serving a good-value, prix fixe menu of straightforward, enjoyable dishes.
“A short walk from Windermere”, this attractive small hotel and restaurant wins praise for its “interesting and imaginative” cuisine.
Cedar Manor is located on the outskirts of Windermere in a wonderful gothic Victorian building. In the Spring, Summer and Autumn the gardens are lovely to sit in with a pre-dinner drink and nibbles.
There are also two lovely lounges, one more contemporary and the other a little more classic. Both with fires in the winter.
Enjoy pre-dinner drinks from our well stocked bar, including locally made Gin, Vodka, Whiskey and Beers. We have an excellent wine list with top picks from all over the world.
The restaurant is intimate, serving 20 guests at capacity. We won't need your table back so there is never a rush. You can choose a 2 or 3 course option from our small Table d'Hote menu which changes with the seasons. You are likely to find good meat choices - lamb being very popular, steak, sometimes game, duck and pork. Of course to finish there are desserts but a favourite has to be cheese, sourced locally and from the North West of England.
Finish the evening back in the lounge with coffee and petits fours, perhaps a brandy or liqueur.
