This smart village pub with a garden incorporates a very French dining room, ‘La Cloche’, which serves bistro classics with a nod to the hearty dishes of the southwest, along with a good selection of wine and beer.

A “hidden gem” – a “good-looking” pub hosting dining room ‘La Cloche’, serving “interesting” Gallic food, to the left, and a cosy lounge for watching the footie to the right; “once you get to know the lovely owners you’ll find they’re NOT grumpy at all, just very French!”

What was once a run-of-the-mill pub is now a “very Gallic” establishment that’s “top for everyday simple dining”. “Ignore any negative online reviews you see about the owners – they are great and just being French!”

For 30 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Service beyond ec pectations when my guest, due to her disability, was finding difficulty with cutting the meat, asked for a steak knife, the waiter obliged by bringing the knife and then helped by cutting the meat for her. Kindness beyond my expectations, and with a very friendly disposition. Top marks for Service."
